As usual, I was up early and had to wait for the others to get up… Geir made some delicious pancakes for breakfast and after a quick stop at the nearest supermarket we were on the road again. We followed I-25 to Walsenburg before heading west towards Alamosa. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was fantastic.Across Wolf Creek Pass we got the first sights of snow and the temperature were around 0° C. Hanne found a Siberian Husky that was playing in the snow.
We made a stop in Pagosa Springs just because Hanne saw a “cross stitch”-store, but it was getting darker and we decided to camp here for the night. We found a Best Western and checked in, but when we later took a walk around town we discovered that there was another motel with several hot springs just across the street.
Pagosa Springs was a typical little western town with several nice stores. We ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant and spent the rest of the evening relaxing in front of the TV. “57 channels and nothing on” as Bruce Springsteen sings…
